Common questions
Straight answers before you get in touch.
What does KGA Chartered Accountants do?
KGA is a chartered accounting firm in Warkworth. The practice has been in Warkworth since 1977, and the KGA name was created in 2012 when two local accounting practices merged. The team handles annual accounts, tax returns, GST and payroll, and works alongside owners on business advisory, coaching, cashflow and fractional CFO support for businesses across Rodney and Mahurangi.
Where is KGA based, and which areas does it serve?
KGA works from 54 Whitaker Road, Warkworth. Most clients are in Warkworth, Matakana, Snells Beach, Wellsford and the wider Rodney district, with others in Orewa, Silverdale, Mangawhai and Auckland. Cloud accounting means distance is rarely a barrier, and meetings happen in person, by phone or online.
How much does an accountant cost in New Zealand?
Fees depend on the work involved, so KGA quotes every job before starting rather than billing against an hourly rate you cannot plan around. If the scope needs to increase, the team explains why and provides a new quote first. A complimentary one-hour business review is the usual starting point.
When are New Zealand business tax returns due?
For a 31 March balance date, income tax returns are due 7 July. Clients on a tax agent’s list, including KGA’s, receive an extension of time that moves the deadline to 31 March the following year, provided returns are filed progressively across the year.
Do I need a chartered accountant, or will any accountant do?
Anyone can call themselves an accountant in New Zealand - the title is not restricted. Chartered Accountants are members of CA ANZ, hold a recognised qualification and practising certificate, and are bound by a code of ethics with ongoing training and practice review.
What happens at the complimentary business review?
It is a one-hour conversation, at no cost and with no obligation. You talk through where the business is now, what is working, what is not, and what you want next. If KGA is not the right fit, or you do not need an accountant, the team will say so.
